MOANday, HOLLERday

Moanday ALL!
Holiday here in America, celebrating Presidents and taking time off from being productive in school and work… yeah right…. Fuck me, I am at work right now, and when I go home, I will be doing homework…
May and I did have an interesting day yesterday, I am not sure if it was a great day. Let’s just call it a day! OK?!? We never made it to brunch but it was not anyone’s fault. Poor Ms. Smiley needed her mommy, and there was a phone call, so T2 had to race home. Our SF neighbors (lovely older couple B&J) stopped by to say hello. Our conversation with them last until almost 11 am, then Gracie V called all in a tizzy. She is becoming a total drama queen. By the time May sorted out that little mess, it was well past noon – and I had eaten crackers and crackers and water and I was not excited about going out at all. May also was not in the mood, so we ate more crackers and bitched about Gracie V.
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is not that far away from the loft, so we decided to walk over and do an afternoon of art. I was moved by the photographs of Francesca Woodman. Sadly the exhibit is over tomorrow. There was the Art Game Lab which May wanted to see. It is interesting. Basically it is crowd sourced games designed by SFMOMA’s community. We spent almost 4 hours there, just taking it all in. I even bought a membership for May and I. I guess I am under some illusion that I am going to be going there a lot. I should, I mean it is not that far walking distance.
We had both turned off our phones while we were in the museum, so as we exited we both had calls and messages to return like crazy. I guess Gracie had left like 12 messages, all more urgent and less rational than the previous one. May told me it was time to get out of town, so we went back and packed and out the door by 5 pm. I did not ask May “WHY WE HAD TO LEAVE” but I did note a sense of dismay in her voice.
The plan was not super planned, as I was driving, May says, “oh let’s stop at Fry’s.” Just more proof that we are geek gals, once again we KNEW more than the sales guys about computers. May is building two laptops for gaming, and she knew exactly what she wanted to get. The fucking sales guy kept saying, “oh that is wrong” over and over again, so finally I had enough. I simply said “SHUT UP! We both have computer degrees and we work in the gaming industry, SO WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT. GET IT FOR US.” Sure a few people freaked, but we got what we wanted. May laughed at me, and my low tolerance for uniformed condescending males. Don’t get me started on the fuckers in the Catholic Church and their completely unethical and immoral stance on birth control.
Back in Santa Cruz, we did dinner and drinks with Luna and her buddy Susan. Nothing epic, and I was home doing homework by 8 pm.

MOANday morning, May and I went and worked out hard. We did two circuits of weights, and 30 minutes cardio. I was fucking tired at the end of it. Our trainer thinks the Pilates is helping both of us. Our big thing right now is being lean, not muscular. I am thinking that next quarter though, I really need to make some time for dance. I am not sure when, but I really do need some dancing.
While working out, our friend Craig was there. He was laughing because I was making faces at this dude that was giving us the look over. I am such a dork. I am sorry, it is a place to work out, not a place to try to pick up on us.
Even though we have the day off of work, I am putting in 8 hours so I can skip work until Friday, and concentrate the whole week on school. My big push is on the next two weeks, hard to believe but it is true. Nothing too much else today happening for me, I am going to be doing homework tonight.
I am getting lots of feedback on my parents posting, and lots on the Jake and my mom story. People want to hear more about my mom – OH I HAVE LOTS OF THOSE!
